It all started in 1988 when P.E. teachers Chris Illsley & Dick Hughes decided to create a company which catered for the complete requirements of a running race organiser; they called this company ‘The Running Imp’.

After a year in partnership the two decided to go in separate directions – Chris Illsley & Caroline Birkin formed Running Imp International Sports Ltd & Dick & Roz Hughes formed Running Imp Ltd.

Since 1988 the companies have been in direct competition, becoming the two biggest companies in the industry. Now, with Dick & Roz Hughes set to retire, they have come ‘full-circle’. As of December 1st 2007 Running Imp International Sports Ltd will incorporate Running Imp Ltd & Sporting Impact Ltd as part of a major acquisition.

Running Imp International Sports will be working very closely with Dick, Roz & Lisa Hughes over the next year to ensure a seamless transition and to ensure that they offer the same level of service to you as Running Imp / Sporting Impact have in the past.

Products previously sourced from Running Imp / Sporting Impact will now be available from Running Imp International Sports. These products will be featured in the 2008 brochure & website.
